Statewide Condition Summary

What's Changed? A small portion of Mobile County worsened from Abnormally Dry (D0) to Moderate Drought (D1). All other conditions remained the same as last week.

What's New? With little to no rain across the state last week, Alabama remains mostly status quo on the U.S. Drought Monitor map, meaning there have been no changes to drought designations outside of the sliver of Mobile County that worsened to D1. Select areas around Birmingham are the only ones to have seen any reprieve since the beginning of the year.

What's Next? With little to no rain in the upcoming week's forecast, expect conditions to remain the same or worsen.

Drought conditions across Alabama remained mostly unchanged this week, with little to no rainfall across the state. A small area in Mobile County worsened from abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1), while all other areas held steady. Much of the state remains drier than normal, with moderate to extreme drought continuing across many southern counties. With limited rain in the forecast, conditions are expected to stay the same or gradually worsen.
