ABOUT THE POSITION: 蹤獲絢app invites applications for a tenure-eligible Associate or Full Professor in Psychology, who will be appointed to serve as Department Chair for a four-year term (renewable). The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology, have an active research agenda, excellent teaching skills, a proven record of effective leadership, and a demonstrated commitment to faculty development. Preference will be given to applicants currently at the rank of associate or full professor. We also welcome applicants able to lead a research lab with undergraduate and graduate students and mentor students in our MS and Applied Experimental Psychology PhD programs.

Duties and responsibilities of the Chair include, but are not limited to: strategic leadership in developing and implementing a shared departmental vision; modeling, supporting and rewarding faculty excellence in teaching and research; developing partnerships and networks across the university, with alumni, and with the local community; creating a department culture that upholds a commitment to recruiting and retaining faculty, staff and students; guiding the implementation recommendations from a recently completed department plan; communicating with and providing support to psychology majors and graduate students; assisting with college recruitment and retention initiatives; overseeing the recruitment and hiring of new faculty; evaluating departmental faculty, including reviews for tenure and promotion; assessing and revising curriculum; coordinating department course scheduling; managing and administering fiscal resources (planning and expenditure of funds in accordance with UAH procedures); and representing the department in college and university-level planning and strategy development. Department Chairs receive their base salary plus an administrative stipend, and teach a reduced 1-1 course load.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned PhD in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Record of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed manuscripts, presentations, external funding) commensurate with requirements for tenure at UAH
  • Demonstrated evidence of successfully mentoring Masters degree and/or PhD students in Psychology.
  • Demonstrated record of securing external funding.
  • Experience teaching university students in online, hybrid, and/or face-to-face models.
  • Demonstrated evidence of university service (committees, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

ABOUT THE POSITION: 蹤獲絢app invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenure-eligible Associate Professor in Psychology. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology and have an active research agenda in human factors psychology which may include: human-computer interaction, usability, UI/UX, human-centered design, artificial intelligence/machine learning, engineering psychology, human-systems engineering, cognitive engineering, ergonomics, and/or industrial/organizational psychology. Announcement of Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor in Entertainment Technology
Department of Music, Theatre, and Film

 

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Department of Music, Theatre, and Film at 蹤獲絢app (UAH) invites applications for a dynamic and visionary educator and practitioner of Entertainment Technology, who will teach, mentor, and inspire students preparing for careers in creative entertainment industries. The successful candidate will bring expertise across emerging and traditional entertainment platformsspanning interactive media, or virtual/augmented reality, or live performance technologies, or digital production pipelines.

Responsibilities: Engage in creative activity/research, teaching and service as part of the Theatre Program, which offers majors in Theatre with concentrations in Design and Technology, Performance, and Film and Media Arts. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in the areas of production design and entertainment technology. The regular teaching load is three courses per semester. Faculty are expected to actively engage in recruiting events, in public presentations of student work, and to meaningfully contribute to departmental productions.

Qualifications: MFA in Theatre Design, Theatre Technology, or Entertainment Technology, or a related field and an ability to effectively visualize, design, and build such design and technology projects for theatre and film productions, as well as provide highly effective instruction in undergraduate courses related to design and entertainment technology. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in college teaching related to design and technology. Additional experience in new areas of entertainment technologies is a plus. Candidates who are near completing their degree requirements will be considered; however, all degree requirements must be completed by August 1, 2026, to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Announcement of Visiting Professorship and Eminent Scholar Chair in the Humanities
Humanities Center at 蹤獲絢app

 

ABOUT THE POSITION: 蹤獲絢app (UAH) invites applications for a semester-long Visiting Professorship to begin in August 2026 or January 2027. The successful applicant will be appointed as Eminent Scholar Chair in the Humanities. The incumbent will be expected to offer one in-person course during the semester of their appointment, give at least two public lectures on a topic related to the humanities, lead at least one meeting with faculty on curriculum development or research, and be prepared to mentor junior faculty and graduate students in the humanities.

The Eminent Scholar Chair in the Humanities enjoys the use of a private faculty office, access to library and other faculty resources, as well as access to funding for expenses directly related to their scholarly work. This is a limited-term position for one semester (either Fall or Spring). Appointments are subject to approval by the Chancellor of the University of Alabama System.

Adjunct Position in the Department of Art, Art History & Design, Part-time

 

蹤獲絢app invites applications for adjunct positions within the Department of Art, Art History & Design. Specifically, positions are available in Graphic Design and Studio Art. These positions are part-time faculty positions, hired on an as-needed basis. Compensation is based on a standard university scale according to the number of credit hours being taught. Primary responsibilities include in-person or online, asynchronous instruction based on the given student learning objective for the course, designing and implementing quality assessments, and grading students on their ability to master the learning objectives.

Qualifications: 

Minimum requirements include a Master of Fine Arts degree in Design or Visual Arts. Previous experience as an instructor is preferred.

Responsibilities: Conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research in a collegial environment where both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued. Qualifications: A PhD in information systems, supply chain management, business analytics, management science, or related business discipline is required. A PhD from an AACSB accredited institution is preferred. Demonstrated success in teaching courses in the relevant subject areas in an AACSB accredited business program over at least five years is required. The Eminent Scholar in the Management of Technology must have a strong academic reputation, a track record of professional engagement in their field, and a distinguished record of publications in high-quality journals that meet the colleges standards for appointment at the rank of Professor. We also prefer candidates who have a track record of fostering inter- and intra-department collaborations in research, a history building connections between industry and academia, experience creating or enhancing academic programs, a commitment of excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, a demonstrated ability to mentor junior faculty and graduate students, and the potential to expand student interest and engagement in the areas of information systems, cybersecurity management, supply chain management, or analytics. ABOUT THE POSITION: The Department of Kinesiology at UAH is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. Areas of expertise may include human performance assessment, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and sports science. Adjunct Position in the Department of Kinesiology, Part-time

 

蹤獲絢app invites applications for adjunct positions within the Department of Kinesiology. Specifically, positions are available within the Exercise Science, Sport and Fitness Management, and Physical Education Educator Preparation programs. These positions are part-time faculty positions. Persons hired in adjunct positions typically teach 3-6 hours of course work (1-2 classes) on an as-needed basis. Compensation is based on a standard university scale according to the number of credit hours being taught. Primary responsibilities include instruction based on the given student learning objective for the course, designing and implementing quality assessments, and grading students on their ability to master the learning objectives.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Masters degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field. Previous experience as an instructor is preferred.

Adjunct Position in the Applied Behavior Analysis Master's Program

 

The College of Education at 蹤獲絢app invites applications for a part-time instructor in our applied behavior analysis masters program. The candidate will teach online ABA courses in our 5th edition Verified Course Sequence (VCS). Candidates must have a doctoral degree and an active BCBA certification. Preferred qualifications include previous teaching experience, BACB supervision experience, and previous experience with the Canvas learning platform.

Courses are offered in the evenings.  

Minimum Qualifications:

Part-time instructors teaching graduate-level courses must have a doctoral degree in behavior analysis, psychology, special education or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Part-time instructors teaching graduate-level ABA courses must also be a current Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (ISEEM) Department offers BSIE, MSE, MSOR, and PhD degrees. The Department has an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Our faculty currently consists of six tenure-track/tenured members and three clinical members. Our student body includes approximately 140 undergraduate and 150 graduate students. Our facultys research interests include artificial intelligence/critiquing systems, digital engineering and digital twins, ergonomics, robotics, additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, complex systems engineering and design, systems science, model-based systems engineering, stakeholder preference modeling and communication, quality systems design and assessment, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and engineering management. In FY25, the department had over $2.2 million in research expenditures. ABOUT THE POSITION:  We seek applicants who can teach first and second-year undergraduate chemistry courses, oversee and facilitate undergraduate laboratory courses, and manage the departments shared instrumentation, especially in our Lonnie McMillian NMR Facility. Preference will be given to candidates who have a broad background in chemical instrumentation and who can participate in externally funded research collaborations. The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry or closely related field and demonstrates a record of publications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  The ideal candidate should have a potential for scholarship supported by external funding through contracts and grants. Opportunities exist for supervising students in our graduate programs in Chemistry, Biotechnology Science and Engineering, and Materials Science.
