About the Position: The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at 萝莉岛app invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the area of Intelligence and Security, with appointment beginning Fall 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator and leader who wants to help grow new educational programs and a research office in intelligence and security. The candidate will join a group of recently hired faculty in these fields and benefit from a strongly supportive Huntsville community.

Responsibilities: This position involves both teaching and administrative responsibilities. The candidate will teach courses in new undergraduate and graduate programs in intelligence and security and also serve as Director of the Office of Intelligence and Security. The Director role will focus on growing these undergraduate and graduate programs, and associated educational offerings (e.g., non-credit courses, summer institutes), and developing the Office of Intelligence and Security with a goal of becoming a research center. The Director will work with the Dean and faculty to implement a strategic vision for the Office and associated educational programs, develop partnerships and networks with government and industry professionals, and find innovative ways to expand capabilities, including by securing external funding.

Qualifications: A master鈥檚 degree in a discipline represented by the departments within the UAH College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (or a related field) is required, with a PhD preferred. Experience working in intelligence and security, and the ability to work closely with government and industry partners, is required. University teaching experience preferred.

DEPARTMENT CHAIR AND ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR

The Department of Psychology at 萝莉岛app invites applications for a Department Chair at Associate or Full Professor rank in the area of Human Factors or Clinical/Counseling Psychology, with appointment beginning Fall 2025. Department Chairs receive their base salary plus an administrative stipend.

Responsibilities: This position will involve serving as Chair of the Psychology Department, with a focus on enhancing recruitment and retention to facilitate growth of our undergraduate (BA, BS) and graduate (MS and PhD) programs, and strategic planning for further development of our department through the implementation of a MA program in Counseling Psychology. This role also will include responsibility for strategic leadership in developing and implementing a shared departmental vision; modeling, supporting, and rewarding faculty excellence in teaching and research; developing partnerships and networks across the university, with alumni, and the broader community; communicating with and providing support to Psychology majors; evaluating departmental faculty, including reviews for tenure and promotion; assessing and revising the curriculum; coordinating department course scheduling; managing and administering fiscal resources; and representing the department in college and university-level planning and strategy development. Additionally, as an Associate or Full Professor, the candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate/graduate level courses in either Human Factors, while contributing to the Human Factors concentration in the new Applied Experimental Psychology doctoral program, or Clinical/Counseling Psychology, contributing to both the BA in Psychology, which is counseling focused, and the newly planned Masters in Counseling Program. Applicants with either area of focus will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research in a collegial environment where both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations and the pursuit of external funding are valued.

Qualifications: A PhD in Human Factors or Clinical/Counseling Psychology is required. Candidates should be at the Associate or Full Professor level already or be able to obtain tenure at UAH prior to starting. Those with a Clinical/Counseling background should be license eligible. We also prefer candidates who have a track record of fostering inter- and intra-department collaborations in research, a history building connections between industry and academia, experience creating or enhancing academic programs, a commitment of excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, a demonstrated ability to mentor junior faculty and graduate students, and the potential to expand student interest and engagement in the areas of information systems, cybersecurity management, supply chain management, or analytics. About the Position: The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (ISEEM) at 萝莉岛app (UAH) invites applicants for two clinical professors (also referred to as professors of practice) with experience in the area of Engineering Management. The successful candidates are to be hired at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor, depending on demonstrated experience in guiding research and teaching graduate courses. The successful candidate must have earned a PhD degree in Engineering Management or Industrial Engineering. Candidates with a degree in a related discipline with significant research and experience in engineering management, technology management, or organizational development will also be considered. We seek candidates with a strong history of Engineering Management responsibility, professional experience, and a strong understanding of both basic and applied academic research. The workload expectation is teaching three courses a semester and advising of PhD students in the Engineering Management program.

About the Department: The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management currently has six tenured/tenure-earning faculty, one clinical associate professor and one lecturer. The enrollment within the department is about 135 undergraduate students and 170 graduate students. The faculty research strengths are in the areas of Computational Design, Systems Engineering, Human-System Integration, Lean Manufacturing, Model-Based Design, Digital Engineering and Digital Twins. Current and previous sources of faculty funding include sources such as NASA, DOD, US Army, the Alabama Department of Transportation and industry.

About the College: The College of Engineering is comprised of five departments and has the largest enrollment of the university鈥檚 six academic colleges. The research focus in the college includes three of several National Academy of Engineering (NAE) grand challenge problems - secure cyberspace; restore and improve urban infrastructure; and engineer tools of scientific discovery. Our faculty is comprised of 20 tenure-track/tenured members and 5 full-time non-tenure-track members. Our undergraduate student body is comprised of 746 aerospace engineering students and 610 mechanical engineering students. We have 239 graduate students in both disciplines. Our faculty鈥檚 research interests include materials for aerospace applications and for energy storage, gas turbine heat transfer, electrochemical energy conversion and storage, design and control of unmanned systems, applications of smart materials, and computational fluid dynamics applied to low-speed combustion and fire applications, fluid-structure interactions, high-speed aerodynamics, and advanced manufacturing processes. In addition to its nationally known educational and research activities in rocket propulsion, the Department is engaged in a wide range of research activities currently funded by NSF, DOD, NASA, DOE, USDA, the State of Alabama, and several corporate sponsors.

About the College: The College of Engineering is comprised of 5 departments and has the largest enrollment of the university鈥檚 six academic colleges. The research focus in the college includes three of several National Academy of Engineering (NAE) grand challenge problems - secure cyberspace, restore and improve urban infrastructure, and engineer tools of scientific discovery. Our strategic Flight Plan 2032 seeks to enhance student-centered teaching and learning focused on student success, promote basic and applied research, while engaging the local and regional community through outreach and workforce development.

About the Position: The UAH College of Nursing (UAH CON) seeks a full-time director for the proposed Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program. The director must be eligible for the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor rank. The position requires a mixture of administrative and teaching duties. This is a 12-month position, with reappointment in two years, based on performance, availability of funding, and receiving accreditation.

About the College: The College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The College offers pre-licensure BSN, accelerated BSN, ADN to BSN, ADN to MSN, MSN tracks in nursing administration, education, and nurse practitioner tracks in family and adult-gerontological acute care, post-graduate certificates, and DNP programs. The College of Nursing also offers a Joint Nursing Science PhD program with the University of Alabama. The College's total fall 2022 enrollment was just under 1,000 students across the degree programs. Extensive distance education programs are offered. Position Announcement - Clinical Assistant Professor of Chemistry

About the Position: We seek applicants who can teach first and second-year undergraduate chemistry courses, oversee and facilitate undergraduate laboratory courses, and manage the department鈥檚 shared instrumentation, especially in our Lonnie McMillian NMR Facility. Preference will be given to candidates who have a broad background in chemical instrumentation and who can participate in externally funded research collaborations. The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry or closely related field and demonstrates a record of publications.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a potential for scholarship supported by external funding through contracts and grants. Opportunities exist for supervising students in our graduate programs in Chemistry, Biotechnology Science and Engineering, and Materials Science.

Position Announcement - Assistant Professor - Space Physicist

About the Position: The Department of Space Science is seeking an outstanding scientist and teacher to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the field of heliophysics. This position will complement a National Science Foundation Established Program in Support of Competitive Research (EPSCoR) grant that was previously awarded to UAH. Within the general field of low temperature plasma physics, areas of particular interest to the Department include solar and interplanetary physics, especially research that supports the new Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, IMAP, and HelioSwarm missions in which the Department is engaged, particularly in the areas of coronal and solar wind physics including heating processes, turbulence, particle transport and energization (including pickup ion physics), and related space weather research. We are also looking to possibly expand departmental expertise in the area of magnetospheric and ionospheric physics. The ideal candidate will complement existing strengths within the Department while expanding significantly research capabilities and competencies. We are seeking someone who uses theory, and/or modeling, and observations to address these areas of interest. The successful candidate will teach in accordance with a typical teaching load in the Department, will develop at least two new advanced graduate level courses reflecting their research expertise, and will support and mentor graduate students pursuing MSc and PhD degrees and undergraduate students in summer programs. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent degree in a field appropriate to the job description above and will have and pursue independent research funding.

Created in September 2013, the Department of Space Science is the newest in the College of Science at UAH. Our principal areas of expertise are solar and heliospheric physics and high energy astrophysics.
