Update: Interim CFO Transition /announcements/fac-staff/19911-update-interim-cfo-transition /announcements/fac-staff/19911-update-interim-cfo-transition Please join us in welcoming Gary Anglin as UAH’s interim chief financial officer, effective January 7, 2026. Gary’s background will provide valuable strategic direction and management for the financial aspects of transformational projects happening on UAH’s campus, including major construction projects and other significant initiatives such as the Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Modernization initiative. He will also lead the Finance units and their supporting services. 

A Huntsville native, Gary is a renowned public accountant who brings decades of specialized experience to UAH. He founded Anglin Reichmann Armstrong, P.C., in 1990 and served for more than 30 years as managing partner of the firm, which is known across the country for its proficiency and strategic consulting. Gary advised individual and business clients on accounting, tax, and mergers and acquisitions, serving industries from government contracting and technology to construction and professional services. Active in charitable, civic, and professional organizations, Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Public Accountants, where he previously has served on the Board of Directors and currently serves as Chair of the Ethics Committee.

 We also want to thank Tharanee Ravindran for her leadership in this role over the past months. She will be returning as the Director of Internal Auditing for the University of Alabama System at UAH early next year.

Holiday Compliance: Gifting with Integrity /announcements/fac-staff/19908-holiday-compliance-gifting-with-integrity /announcements/fac-staff/19908-holiday-compliance-gifting-with-integrity As we move into the holiday season when gift exchanges are common, the Office of Risk Management and Compliance wants to remind everyone of the and UAH's gift policies. To maintain our commitment to integrity and avoid any appearance of undue influence, employees should not offer or accept gifts that could compromise, or appear to compromise, their professional judgment or responsibilities. Please refer to the chart below before giving or receiving any gifts.

Keep the Following Principles in Mind:

  • Avoid gifts of significant monetary value from students, vendors, or external partners.
  • Do not solicit gifts in connection with your university role.
  • When in doubt, politely decline and refer to university policy or your department supervisor.
  • Modest, non-monetary tokens (e.g., thank-you notes or small items of minimal value) may be acceptable, but context matters.

Ensure any seasonal gifts are valued at less than $100.

Don’t accept or give a gift valued at more than $100.

Ensure the total value of gifts from any single donor does not exceed $250 in any one calendar year.

Consult the Institutional Conflicts of Interest and Conflicts of Commitment Interim Policy before accepting or giving gifts to ensure there is no actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest.

Ensure a valid documented business purpose exists prior to presenting non-cash benefits (mugs, t-shirts, etc.) as a token of appreciation to a donor, dignitary, guest, or volunteer.

The December session will dive into the P-Card Process to help you understand all the nuances and to ensure all supporting documentation is properly uploaded in preparation for a review, i.e, auditors. Let's diffuse the myths of this being a difficult process just because it may be unfamiliar.
